Rob Smets is a retired American professional rodeo bullfighter and a nine-time world champion. He was born on January 11, 1960, in Amarillo, Texas, USA. Smets is widely regarded as one of the most successful and respected bullfighters in the history of rodeo. He began his career in 1979 and competed for over 20 years before retiring in 2003. Smets' skills and bravery in the ring have earned him the nickname "The Kamikaze Kid". He has also worked as a consultant and coach for bullfighters and rodeo schools across the United States. Smets was inducted into the Pro Rodeo Hall of Fame in 2006 and the Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame in 2019.
